Clear Cut Violation

According to Constitutional Law as ruled by the Supreme Court. Speaker Pelosi is in clear violation of the Constitution by making the trip to Syria claiming to represent the United States against the wishes of the Bush administration. Mrs. Pelosi should step down from her position as Speaker of the House of Representatives. Mrs. Pelosi has violated her oath of office and the trust of the people of the United States of America.

Dang GF! You are on a roll!!

It would be a sight to see if they presented that Document in Pelosi's face as she get's off the plane home as they are slapping handcuffs on her.

Wishful thinking I guess.

Marie, That thar is a page from a book right out of my library called "American Constitutional Law". I found someone had scanned the whole book into a PDF file as part of Google project. It saved me a lot of time and I was glad to see that someone cared enough about history to take it upon themelves to preserving our heritage no matter how much the current band of outlaws in congress decide to trample upon it. There's plenty more to say about Executive power that clearly dispels all those false charges by the anti war nutcases about George Bush conducting an illegal war as they like to repeat so often and so fervently. I've had that book for many years and it's reference book and it's not the type of book you pick up for some reading to relax with but if you have a particular case in front of you such as this it is quite insructive and concise.

Susie, you may recall a discussion about the tune that is now being played when you open my blog page from last year. It is called the "World Turned Upside Down" and it is said that the song was played while Cornwallis surrendered to General George Washington at Yorktown, Virginia October 19, 1781

If ponies rode men and grass ate cows,
And cats were chased into holes by the mouse . . .
If summer were spring and the other way round,
Then all the world would be upside down.

I heard Rush saying something about this yesterday, but as always... now that I've heard you explain it, it makes more sense. Oh, that it would happen, but this wheel will grind slowly I'm afraid.
Have a great Easter Weekend.

So the 4 Republican members of the House who also went to Syria are similiarly to be held in disrepute and manacled in irons for their transgressions against the sacred document?

No, I didn't think so.

I think you must be recovering from some kind of mini-stroke or something, because you have confused Pelosi's role as Speaker of the House with that of the Governor of California, who is the kind of state official proscribed from "having relations" with foreign powers.

And what do you say about the members of the House Foreign Relations Committee? Are they similarly to be sent to Guantanamo for a quick "course correction?"

Your reasoning is specious, desperate, and pathetic. Your fearless leader is going down, as is his pool boy Alberto. As are all the idiot apologists as well.

Well anon amiss. If you had taken the time to read the details of the above document you will see that the Logan act and the rulings of the Supreme Court I have posted that this applies to all that try and represent themselves as diplomats espousing official United States foreign policy without the express direction and permission of the executive branch. That's the President, George Bush.

Nancy Pelosi was attempting to insert herself into the Israeli/Syrian conflict as representative of the United States government in direct contrast to the stated policies on Syria of the current Executive, George W. Bush.

The other members that went to the middle east are well within their capacity of their offices to go on fact finding missions but they must not negotiate treaties or represent new foreign policy initiatives without the express authority of the Excutive branch, that's the President, George Bush.

It always helps to take a deep breath, become informed about what you speak and actually think about what you are saying before flying off of the handle. I too would post anoymousely if I had come up with such an uninformed and emotional outburst such as the one you have posted anon amiss. Please read and become informed. 1st and last warning.

Ah shucks Word (Jennifer blushing again) Thank you for your vote of confidence.

I don't put up with anonymous comments too much. They are mostly weasels trolling to p___ people off but sometimes they can suit the purposes of pointing out the obvious.

On another note:-)

OK I hope everyone has heard the World Turned Upside Down. I have to turn it off. I hope everyone at least got just that small sample of the things I like to find out. I'm a firm believer that in order to understand history you have to really get the feel for the times.

I have a lot of Civil War music and history stored on my computers. When the elections start rolling around I'll start using some of that to illustrate my case in point.
