Gathering of Eagles

Saturday September 15th the Gathering of Eagles will assemble on the National Mall in Washington DC to show our support for the troops and the mission in Iraq. We need to show our troops that there are tough Americans that support them and do not falter in their support for their country and the men and women that protect it.

Here’s the link to brochure of where the Gathering of Eagles will take place.
Gathering of Eagles Leaflet

Move America Forward is traveling across the country this week and will be a part of the gathering of Eagles. Please come and show your support.

Best of luck with this project. I support you, the troops, the vets and all who are proud to be Americans. Keep up the great work.

Jennifer, I hope that you have a great trip. Troll and I are with you and all of the Eagles in spirit. We are looking forward to your report!

Thanks Nancy and Monica. It looks like its going to be much better weather than it was on St Patrick's Day when we went to the first Gathering of Eagles. When the troops are overseas fighting a war they have to know that there are strong people at home that back them and support them.

The "Me" generation believes in nothing and after 9/11 the support for attacking the terrorists soon fell by the wayside because it required a commitment to getting the job done and of course the "Me" generation never believes in anything other than; what's in it for me?

OMG - we were there in March, too. Poor Troll had just gotten out of surgery the day before and I had dropped the girls off at Mom-Mom's in a snowstorm the night before.

We FROZE! We loved being there, though.

I think Skye roasted a couple months ago when she was down there. This weekend should be gorgeous. I am so happy that such large numbers come to show our troops how much we support them.

Jenni, I will be there in spirit with you and the others.

The song you have playing right now at your blog is really getting me all emotional.

I sure wish I could go again.

But with all the crap I have to deal with I wont be able to make it this time. :-(

I sure enjoyed your company last time Jenn and hope you have a good trip again.

I will be there in Sprit.

Give 'em hell for me :-)

Thanks Monica, Susie and Marie, you ladies were coming with me in my heart whether you knew it or not.

Monica, Marie and I knew you, the Troll and Skye were there but we couldn't find you in that sea of patriots. It was cold for St Patty's day and I've been to more than a few full blown St Patty's Day parades in Philly and New York.

I wish you were coming Marie but I fully understand your reasons but it will be like your standing there with all the rest of us. You're one heck of an American Marie, driving out here from Oklahoma to show our troops that we stand behind them protecting their backs while Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, the Clintons and the rest of demo-rats try to put a knife in their backs.

Susie, I have somemore patriotic songs from the US Navy Band I'll put up later.

To everyone that hasn't noticed, if run run your mouse over "Now Playing" over top of my music player an information bubble will pop up telling you the name of the song and the artist performing the song.

Well, Jennifer have a good time. I totally support anybody who stands up for what they believe in.

I know that you're busy, but I have bestowed upon you the Nice Matters award!

Nice Matters.

Well, thank you so much Monica but I can't take all of the credit when it comes to that. I hope I don't get someone in trouble but.... There are a few people that visit here that will testify that I wasn't always very nice to others. I see you snickering up there Dian;-)

Anyway, there is one very special person that I can say had direct positive influence on me and has been a role model to me being a more thoughtful and generally better person. It's my good friend Susie Q. Susie is without a doubt one of those types of people that only come along once in a while that are thoughtful and are of such solid character that most of us will only meet few Susie's in our lives. I hope I didn't embarrass you Susie but it's true what I said.

Thanks Dian, I will try and stay out of trouble. I just feel the need to support the troops in the tough mission that has been assigned to them. They aren't coming home soon and they need our support.

I wish I could join you, Jennifer. Unfortunately there's no way I can get away from this farm, but I too will be there in spirit. I pray that this is a roaring success and hope it gets more MSM coverage than the last one did.

God bless you!

Jenni, yes, you did embarrass me. And I am not sure I deserve all that credit. Boy, do I ever have a public image to live up to now. I'd better make sure I keep my act squeaky clean.

Thanks, Jenni, you are a dear.

This is despicable!

Give 'em hell, Jen!

I have to work until 3pm tomorrow; but I'll check around for something local to attend. I'm sure the moveon crowd will be down at City Hall in downtown LA.

From the comment section the Wordsmith linked to:

"It is unknown who did this to The Wall, and apparently the US Park Police did not know about this damage until today; though the Park Service employees knew about it."

"From the same people who want to “bring the troops home”
so they can p!ss on them."

"And one thing is certain.
This was done by someone on the Left."

"This damage was brought to you by... anti-American libs."

From "...it is unknown who did this..." to the unfounded assumptions that lefties and liberals did it.

I hope to God none of the people who post at that website ever, ever get called for jury duty.

They've all made up their minds and are hysterical in their anger over something for which they have no proof.

In a civilized society, these types of people are called rabble rousing vigilantes.

God help us all.

Sorry for the double post.

J_G said...

Well, they do know who did it Joanne and they were caught on film. They have not released the names or the film but from sources at the Vietnam Vets Memorial and the Park Service say that it was just who Wordsmith says it was.

Just the facts Ma'am.
