NBC traitors

FOX News ran this on Dec. 8th:

WASHINGTON — NBC reversed course Saturday and decided to air a conservative group's television ad thanking U.S. troops.

The ad, by the group Freedom's Watch, asks viewers to remember the troops during the holiday season. NBC had refused to air the ad because it guides viewers to the Freedom's Watch Web site, which NBC said was too political.

But in a statement issued Saturday evening, NBC said:

"We have reviewed and changed our ad standards guidelines and made the decision that our policy will apply to content only and not to a referenced Web site. Based on these amended standards the Freedom's Watch ad will begin to run as early as Sunday."

NBC' head of standards and practices, Alan Wurtzel, notified Freedom's Watch's media consultant Saturday by e-mail, writing: "This will confirm that the Freedom's Watch spot is approved for air."

NBC initially said that airing the spot would violate the network's prohibition on controversial issue ads. Wurtzel, in an interview Friday with The Associated Press, said NBC found nothing wrong with the ad's content, but rather objected to the link to, viewing the Web site as too political...

Too political eh? They are the ones that politicized our efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan. From the beginning for the lib press it's been about defeating America and George Bush.

Have you checked out Kenneth Timmerman's Shadow Warriors? It details officials within the CIA and State Dept who, from day one, have actively allowed their political partisanship and personal agendas undermine and sabotage our efforts in this war.

Do they hate Bush so much, that they cannot see they are putting personal animosity above the protection of this country?

i seems to me like they are making a mountain out of a molehill. I think the purpose of FOX airing the piece is more about making their competition look bad then any genuine indignity on their part.

A mountain out of molehill? Not allowing an ad thanking the troops for the job they are doing is a molehill? I don't think so. The liberals and their willing accomplices in the press have lost sight of America and what real Americans believe.

Incidentally, the grownups finally took control and made the news department know this type of behavior isn't going to be tolerated and they are to show the ad. When are the liberals going to stop acting like spoiled brats and chip in to make this country move ahead?

I hear liberals claim that liberals are just as patriotic as the rest of America, I have seen no indication of that.

Whatever. That's my opinion, though.

The liberals and their willing accomplices in the press have lost sight of America and what real Americans believe.. Your problem is, you have narrowly defined what liberalism means & what patriotism is. For one thing liberal Americans are real Americans. Liberal Americans are also as patriotic as conservative Americans.

You are really falling on deaf ears. If you are against ANYTHING Bush is for, then you are anti-American. PNAC, FOX NEWS, Hannity and like...they have brainwashed them to hate anyone who is not for total empire at any cost ("Who cares? We're America!")

The game was invented by Rove after 9/11. "You're either with us or against us."

Thank you
As a Liberal I consider myself a patriot and defender of the ideas of what our liberal democracy is supposed to stand for.(as much as you conservatives all hate the word liberal, that's what our system of government is called)
America was founded on visionary ideas, we laud these ideas in our history books. America was once called the land of liberty & the Free.
France admired these visionary & progressive ideas enough to present us with the the Statue of Liberty.
I feel Regressive republican politics has lost sight of what real democracy is. They have lost sight of this vision.

Federalist, it's no game started by Karl Rove. Modern liberals have always been a detriment to the society in which we live they stand for nothing and fall for anything. How about I put it this way so a pea brain like yourself can understand. The people we conservatives elect are pushed to the front unlike liberals and you head in sand folks who wait until someone comes along to tell you what to think and do.

You are wrong about our government Dian. It is an elected republic designed and signed by republicans.

It's still defined as a liberal democracy, last time I looked. :)
