That's great... everybody should be required to watch it.
Thanks for stopping by Daniel. I remember seeing this kind of cartoon when I was a child. Things are very different today.
Glad you found and shared this. I don't think many high schoolers could state their case (either way) any better than this cartoon. No politician since Reagan, sorry to say, has been able to highlight such ideals without sounding like it was just talk. We're certainly getting a new packaged old deal in Obama.
Hi Tom, nice to hear from you. I hope you are having a nice summer. I ran across this while looking for something else.I thought this describes the difference between socialism and Republicanism pretty well. Most students today are not taught anything in history, civics or social studies relating to our form of government and how to participate. I firmly believe that is done on purpose. The fruits of the socialists are starting to bear fruit when people like Obama are so popular with the younger set.
We are becoming a nation of people who feel they are entitled to lived the good life, rather than work and produce for it. We need to go back to conservative principles which Reagan described so well.
Yup Steve, entitlements make up most of the budget, Social Security supplemental retirement and it's disability payments. Medicare and the recent new prescription plan. Medicaid and all the government health programs. All these entitlements are what we are paying for with our taxes. You get some loony leftists cry about the military and it's spending. How about the military is only about 4-5 percent of the budget and the military would like to see that doubled to 8 percent. Clinton cut the military and CIA in half leaving us vulnerable as leftists usually do. That isn't providing for the common defense, and that is a Constitutionally required. Yet they have no problem extending benefits to people that were never the intention of the founders. Hell, up to the first part of the 20th century no one thought that the government dolling out money would do anything but create a dependency classNow how can we get the state out of lives and business like the founders proscribed
This video is a great find, Jennifer. I enjoyed it immensely! I'm in total agreement with you. I know the schools are revising history and it's beyond shameful. Also, if we thought Clinton was bad, (and he was!) Obama would be even worse, as he proves in the video I have posted at the top of my blog. How anyone can vote for him is beyond me!
Gayle said...How anyone can vote for him is beyond me!Well Gayle a lot of people think the same way that Obama does. They believe that most people are too ignorant or stupid to take care of themselves so the government will do it for everyone. They have been dutifully taught this type of thinking in the schools by socialists leaning teachers. No history of the struggle for freedom and no meaning to the words of fighting and dying for country to uphold the principles of freedom. That's why the socialists took over the education systems so they could intill their all government all the time beliefs. After all who knows better than the liberals do?
Oh that was great Jenn :-)
While the statistics are dated, the theme is brilliant. More people need to see this.
nice vid. reminds me of the old patriotic hollywood of old.
Your're right Shoprat, the theme is right on target for the Obama socialism express. The message is universal for the ages. Mark, I'm going to see if I can find more of these videos, I greew up watching and learning from this kind of lesson.
Hey Marie, how ya doing? Thanks for stopping by girl.
I remember this. I think the only time I'd love to be in the same room with Senator Obama, is the moment he watched this video for the first time. Would love to know his reaction to it. I wonder if he's ever seen it?
Word, Socialism is the ultimate goal of Obama and his mindumb robots. I think he would be very unhappy to see the snake oil salesman being chased out of town.
that was great, thanks Jenn
dd2, I found some other cartoons by this artist but none of them are as informative or powerful as this one. Thanks for stopping by. I've been quite busy for the last few weeks enjoying the summer (even in the summer heat).
Jenn,I have tried writing you and your email addy has changed. There is so much I want to tell you but I wish you would email me with your new email addy so I can add it.And we cant talk.I Love your advice and am looking forward to a letter. :-)
OK Marie, look for an email from me as soon as get done here.
It's sad that an appreciation for the freedom and blessing of living in this great country has gone out of style.Sadder still that it has been replaced by an attitude that questions and undermines every good thing about this country as if that will make this a better place.
