Breathtaking Greed from Democrats

Over the last days the financial institutions that have been financing sub prime mortgages have been falling like flies. Lehman Brother's went bankrupt, Merril Lynch was sold at a bargain basement price and AIG insurance had to be bailed out with a loan from the US Treasury to the tune of $85 billion. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have been the center of this fallout. They have been making bads loans for years now and like Jeremiah Wright the racist anti American preacher of the church Barack Obama attended would say "the chickens have come home to roost"

These two governmental/corporation institutions Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac have been the backbone of the mortgage lending industry for the last few years. They have also been the slush fund for democrat party leadership too. The Chairman of the committee that is supposed to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Christopher Dodd of Connecticut instead has been receiving campaign money contributions and has done nothing to stop the hemorrhaging of losses at the taxpayer backed corporations. The number two and three recipients of campaign money contributions from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae has been Joe Biden and Barack Obama. Barack Obama has thought so much of this deal with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae he chose Franklin Raines the CFO of Fannie Mae as his top campaign financial adviser and head of the committee to choose a running mate. Joe Biden was then chosen as Barack Obama's running mate because he too was in the deal. Between Biden and Obama they took about a million and half dollars in campaign contributions.

So now today when I log on to my internet provider I peruse the most recent writings from the Associated Press (the Obama Campaign) I see the story that Joe Biden is now calling for Americans to pay more taxes because it is the patriotic thing to do. Hmmmm, let me get this straight, after years of raiding the taxpayer financed agencies of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, vinegar Joe Biden and his cronies Senator's Barack Obama, and Chris Dodd want us the US taxpayer to pay more taxes and call it the patriotic thing to do. How ludicrous is that? The very people that benefited so much from the agencies that have been the center of the financial mess we're currently in, want us now to pay more taxes to bail this slush fund out. This is what is known as "huztbah", which means someone who would kill their parents and plead mercy before the court because they are an orphan. That pretty much sums it up.

Biden's remark about how paying taxes is the patriotic thing to do hit a raw nerve in me.

Recently I had an email exchange with a friend of mine who leans heavily to the Left I found out. In fact, she is in favor of redistributing the nation's wealth through taxation I found out. And she thinks anyone who complains about taxes is selfish and has no compassion.

My friend has sent me many things generated by and Al Gore. I haven't complained. However, I did decide recently to respond in kind by sending her an article that Kemp had written about how harmful it would be to raise taxes, like Obama wants to do, at a time when our economy is so fragile. Well, my friend fired back an email that oozed self-righteousness.

She implied that my husband and I have lived a privileged life and for that reason we should be more than happy to pay our taxes so that others less fortunate can benefit. I responded of course.

I let her know that my husband was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth or anything remotely close to that. He was born into poverty and he worked his way up from that state.

I described his childhood for her. No indoor plumbing. Water for drinking, cooking, and bathing was drawn with a bucket from a well. On wash day water was hauled to the house from a nearby pond. I told her how he got most of his college while he served in the Air Force and then went on to finish his degree by working at night and going to school during the day after we were married and had children. I told her that he has worked hard for anything we have acquired that improved our lot in life. I wanted her to know all of that, because she has a tendency to forget about the amount of work (time and effort) people often invest in bettering themselves and how that should be respected and the fruits of their labor not taken from them unfairly.

I told her I was voting for McCain. I haven't heard from her since.

Hi ya Susie, pardon my editing, I wrote the original piece before I went to work today in a big hurry and when I got home the editing feature at blogger was giving problems. I think I got all my ducks in a row now.

Anyway, I know how you feel Susie. As you can imagine I have some friends that are liberals too. I never heard any of them go that far though. Mostly what I hear from them is that the democrats better represent them on social issues and health care blah, blah, blah, basically the same old pitch.

None of my liberal friends like the idea of Biden because we know this guy here in Southeastern PA and know what a fraud he is. He approved and sponsored many if not all those credit card company ripoff charges that get people so angry when they get their bills. He takes huge amounts of money from the credit card industry that is located in Delaware.

My liberal friends are voting for McCain because they don't think Obama can be a leader of the whole country because of divisiveness and inexperience.

Now he's telling me to be patriotic by paying more taxes to bail out the very companies he's been in bed with for so many years? I think Huzbah is the right word.

Your friend has lost sight of reality Susie and hopefully she will someday come to her senses.

I had a great experience Wednesday night. Front row seats at a McCain/Palin Townhall meeting in Grand Rapids. Wrote about it here:

And SuziQ, if you see this, Hello. Long time no see. I agree with what both of you have said.

Wordsmith, I have taken a liking to your accent there. Neat!

What annoys me is that I didn't write to my friend to complain about my taxes. I wrote to tell her how Obama's tax plan could hurt our already fragile economy. She presumed otherwise though and then tried to send me on a guilt trip. I don't mind paying taxes as long as the money is not wasted on feel good programs and things our nation could live without.

My friend and I are in our sixties. We have reached that point in life where our finances are in decent shape and living is comfortable. But by no means are either of us wealthy...not even close. Yet she tells me she feels guilty because she has so much while others have so little by comparison. It must be a liberal thing. The cure for guilt like that is to give to reputable charities where most of the money will reach the needy and not be wasted by a bloated bureaucracy.

Walk the plank you say? Naw, never....couldn't do that to me landlubbin'liberal matey.

Hi Tom, I'll stop by your blog soon. Promise.

Susie, most of my friends are middle class people that have good jobs and have been responsible with their money. They didn't take out loans they knew they couldn't pay back and they go to work every day and save their money. I include myself in with my friends. We have nice houses, not spectacular but nice. Now the Obama's, Biden and their lemmings blame us for the problems they created with their irresponsibility of giving loans to to people that shouldn't have been loaned that money.

Obama and Biden say we have to pay more taxes to pay for all their irresponsibility. It's the same old saw from the democrats but a different face delivering the teleprompter speech. Biden has been preaching the same politics of class warfare since he first began his hypocritical, angry and bitter career.

You have saved and have been responsible and took care of your family. The prize Biden says is, you should give up more of your money that should go to help you and your family. How does he think that is patriotic?

Tom, I'll stop by and read your post this weekend. It's very nice to hear from you again.

Jenni, we can only hope that what the govt. has decided to do will save our economy from going belly up. I am really very afraid. Even with this big fix here in the U.S. there is no guarantee that it will work. It will go global unless other countries follow suit. We have no history to rely on in this case to guide us. This has never happened before. It is scary.

I don't like the idea of spending huge amounts of tax dollars to save these financial institutions and the homeowners involved both of which made stupid decisions (this is the root of the problem) and have placed the rest of us at high risk in the process. It is only a small percentage (two or three percent maybe) of homeowners unable to meet their mortgage payments. But even this small percentage can cause this economy, this house of cards, to collapse.

What is worse, it makes the free market concept and Capitalism look like failures. Chavez down in Venezuelia is exuberant. I hope this move by our government does not mean we are headed toward a socialistic state. If so, we can kiss our liberties goodbye.

It's a once-a-year accent, susieq.

I like this article, too.

It was socialist-minded lumps like Obama that insisted banks to stop "redlining" minorities and give them mortgages without any documentation of income or collateral that started this whole ball rolling.

Funny how he forgot that little piece of his past, huh?

Trek, It is selective memory for the Obamas to forget to mention how this mess all started.

Leave it to someone living in L.A., the land of make believe to remember.

As for the bailout, it's become a trillion dollar goodie bag for liberals and socialists.
